Volkswagen of Duluth’s Partnership with the Hermantown Talons Robotics

At Volkswagen of Duluth, we believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting the next generation of innovators. This year, we had the privilege of sponsoring the Hermantown Talons, Team 5232, a local high school robotics team that has made us incredibly proud.

A Season to Remember

Our partnership with the Talons has been about providing the resources they need to succeed. This season, our sponsorship helped the team upgrade their robot, Tinkerbell, with new swerve drives and ensured they had plenty of practice materials. We also supported their efforts in making team pins and stickers, which are a big hit in the robotics community.

More Than Just Competitions

The financial support we provided went beyond robot parts; it helped the Talons travel to regional and national competitions, including the Northern Lights Regional and the World Championships. These events are crucial for team building and skill development. Witnessing the team come together and excel at these competitions has been incredibly rewarding.

Impact Beyond Robotics

Our involvement with the Talons isn’t just about helping them win competitions. We’re excited to see the team take on significant projects like machine learning and vision processing. They’ve also been active in community engagement, speaking at the MN capital for education funding and participating in local business tours. These activities prepare the students for future challenges, equipping them with skills that extend beyond robotics.
