Volkswagen ID.4 SUV Ranks Among Top 3 on Cars.com 2024 American-Made Index

Volkswagen of America, Inc. proudly announces that the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 electric SUV has secured the third spot on the Cars.com 2024 American-Made Index®. This marks the second consecutive year the ID.4 has been in the top 10, climbing from sixth place in 2023.

The Cars.com American-Made Index® evaluates vehicles based on five primary factors: location of final assembly, percentage of U.S. and Canadian parts, and U.S. assembly employees relative to the automaker’s footprint. The ID.4, built on Volkswagen’s MEB electric vehicle architecture, exemplifies the performance, design, and value that the Volkswagen brand is known for.

All ID.4 models sold in the U.S. have been assembled at Volkswagen’s Chattanooga, Tennessee plant since the 2023 model year. This facility also produces the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport, highlighting Volkswagen’s significant investment in the Chattanooga community. Since 2008, Volkswagen has invested over $4.3 billion in this state-of-the-art assembly plant, supporting local economic growth and fostering community development.

The 2024 ID.4 is available with a starting MSRP of $39,735 for the 62 kWh models and $44,875 for the 82 kWh models, plus a destination charge of $1,425. All 2024 ID.4 models qualify for the full $7,500 Federal Tax Credit when purchased and placed into service in 2024, making the ID.4 an affordable and accessible option for American drivers, rivaling traditional compact SUVs in price.
