The 2025 Volkswagen GTI is set to be fully introduced to the world soon. While this is not a complete redesign, it will feature quite a few things that will nearly make it an all-new car. The 8th generation Golf was introduced in 2021, and the 2025 updated car will be the 8.5 generation. One main feature Volkswagen is highlighting is the inclusion of a ChatGPT user interface enabled by Cerence Chat Pro.

What Is ChatGPT

Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer, or ChatGPT, came out in 2022 and is an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI. What makes ChatGPT so brilliant is its ability to learn more the more often it is used. Volkswagen has named their virtual assistant IDA.

Next Generation

The current generation car has an optional 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the 2025 model is expected to sport a larger 15-inch screen. Because of this, the newly revised touchscreen will offer a ChatGPT-powered virtual assistant. The virtual assistant will allow users to ask their vehicle questions and get real-time responses and answers. Volkswagen calls their virtual assistant IDA, and by simply saying “Hey IDA,” drivers can take control of the infotainment system, air conditioning, navigation, and ask it questions to get answers.
