When looking to buy a 2023 Atlas or Atlas Cross Sport, one of the standout features is all VR6-equipped models come standard with a factory-installed trailer hitch, and with a braked trailer, you can tow up to 5,000 lbs. The 2.0-liter Turbo models are able to tow up to 2,000 lbs when properly outfitted with a hitch and a braked trailer. 

One reason people sometimes worry about buying an SUV is gas mileage. Both the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport are able to achieve up to 21 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, respectively, with the 2.0-liter motor and front-wheel drive. Optioning all-wheel drive only brings those numbers down by 1 mpg on each cycle. If you buy a VR6 front-wheel drive model, you can get up to 18 city and 24 mpg highway, respectively. If you opt for 4Motion all-wheel drive, only the highway number drops by 1 mpg. With an 18.6-gallon fuel tank, both vehicles will give you a good amount of cruising before you need to stop to fill up again. 

Undoubtedly usable space is always a factor when purchasing a large vehicle. No matter the size of your family, you will love the Atlas’s class-dominating 20.6 cu.ft. behind the third-row seats.
