6 Key Updates To The 2024 Atlas
The all-new 2024 Volkswagen Atlas has brought some key changes that journalists and customers alike have appreciated. As a true 3-row flagship SUV in the Volkswagen lineup, the fresh face, an all-new 2.0-liter turbo motor, and compelling technology and available options make the Atlas one SUV that has to be on customers’ short list when looking for a new family SUV.
1: A Brand New Engine
A brand new 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine dubbed the Evo4 produces 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque with 87 octane fuel. Compared to the previous generation Atlas 4-cylinder, this is an increase of 34 horsepower and 15 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Atlas is available with either front or the legendary 4Motion all-wheel drive.
2: More Luxury Without Compromising Value
Moving to the interior, Volkswagen has used higher quality materials for interior trim and the most touched parts of the cabin. Leather trim is more luxurious and upmarket, and the digital instrument cluster gives drivers all of the relevant information they need.
3: More Features Standard
Continuing with the interior, the Atlas features a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen display that brings customers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The addition of standard heated and ventilated seats with a heated steering wheel is very welcome among shoppers who prefer not to have to worry about optioning more amenities that could drive the price up exponentially.
4: Better Controls
The Atlas features normal buttons on the steering wheel that help you control most of what you need to do at your fingertips. Other updates can be found in what can be done with voice commands. So if you want to change the temperature or the speed of the airflow, simply say, “Hello, Volkswagen,” and from there you can do pretty much anything you can think of, including adding a destination to your current trip.
5: More Technology
Standard rain-sensing windshield wipers, a head-up display, a navigation map on your instrument cluster and the infotainment screen, and a 360-degree camera system highlight just some of the features that make the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas a winner for families, or people that just like a larger vehicle with comfort and style.
6: Better Headlights
Some vehicles give you better headlights the higher you go on the trim level, which means an increased price. The VW Atlas, however, has brand new LED headlights that are 900 lumens on even the base SE trim that starts at $37,995.
